This is a short intro available to the public domain of several crazy monkey boxing concepts devised by Rodney King. This video features the open hand slap.

This method of boxing seems to be more appropriate for MMA/self-defense scenarios as it aims to 1) protect the head more, and 2) has a guard not based on large boxing gloves.
