Jon Jones who was born on July 19, 1978 is a mixed martial artist. He is known as the best mixed martial artist and greatest fighter in the world. At the age of 23, he won the title and became the youngest champion of UFC or Ultimate Fighting Championship. He does things that other fighters do not do like unorthodox kicks, pinning the back of his elbows and explosive takedowns.

Along with his family, he has brothers who are also engaged in athletics. His older brother named Arthur is a football and wrestling player in high school. He became a career leader in that school. In addition, his younger brother named Chandler is a defensive end impact for the New England Patriots.
His beginnings: First fight
Jon Jones encountered unexpected financial problems in his life. It led him to make money by trying to join fight in MMA although he did not have enough training for it. He won a fight over Brad Bernard on April 12, 2008. It opened an opportunity for him to be caught up by UFC. They picked him and offered a fight for UFC. From his initial fight, he won over Andre Gusmao at UFC 87.
His career as a wrestler
Jon Jones’ father was also a wrestler before. When he graduated, he attended the Central Community College and became the national wrestler of Junior College. He also earned an Associate Degree.
Jones has a unique fighting style. He has an advantage in using his elbows through different positions to attack. You would notice it every time he fights through those takedown defences and skills in ground controls. His styles in takedowns are often theatrical and brutal. His technique strikes are so amazing that he won over many fighters who also have potential. Jones is a well-rounded athlete.

- He defeated Daniel Cormier at UFC 182 by unanimous decision.
He wrestled and out struck the opponent and actually won the fight.
- He defeated Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165 by decision.
This fight had been a tough one. He almost lost the fight, but still as what great fighters do, he fought harder and beat his opponent.
- He defeated Rashad Evans at UFC 145 by decision.
They were training partners before at Greg Jackson’s camp. Evans was out struck by Jones in this one. His ability to stay alive throughout the fight was commendable.
- He defeated Vitor Belfort at UFC 152 by Americana.
It was just about four rounds and he defeated Belfort.
- He defeated Mauricio Shogun at UFC 128 by TKO.
This was the first time that he met an MMA legend. It was a terrific fight, but he still won over this known legend.
Opponents might complain about the fighting style of Jones as he can be considered as a dirty fighter. Nevertheless, he will not lose his fame as well as recognition as the greatest fighter of all time.
